Farm to Feet Kodiak Extra-Heavyweight Tactical Boot Sock Host to some of the harshest maritime conditions you'll find anywhere, Kodiak Island in Alaska is a practical habitat for the U.S. Navy's cold-weather survival training grounds. With full-density padding from top to toe and an extra-heavyweight, 100% US-made merino wool knit, the Kodiak tactical boot sock is built to protect those venturing into the coldest winter environments. Traditional outer plaiting construction positions most of the wool fibers next to skin for optimized insulation and effective moisture wicking. Features U.S. Merino Wool: Merino wool is soft, cool in the summer and warm in winter. We source our 100% U.S. grown merino wool exclusively from sheep raised by American farmers on American farms. Full Cushion: High-density cushion from top to toe for all day performance. EXTENDED CREW: Extends firmly to the base of your calf to provide additional warmth and support. Seamless To Closure: Advanced knitting techniques create a totally flat connection in the toe box, reducing bulk and eliminating blister-generating friction. Durability Assured: Reinforced construction and low-stress seam placement reduce wear and tear, increasing the life of the sock. Care Instructions To ensure long-lasting comfort and fit, Farm To Feet socks should be machine washed cold and laid flat to dry. Farm to Feet Farm to Feet is committed to using an all-American recipe: US materials, US manufacturing, and US workers. 100% American Made 100% U.S. Materials At Farm to Feet, we take “Made in the USA” one step further by using raw materials sourced from the U.S. This includes the American-grown wool, nylon and elastic to produce our 100% American Socks as well as the paper and inks used in our packaging. 100% U.S. Manufacturing Farm to Feet socks are made with 100% American ingredients, all of which are produced, processed, and knitted by U.S. workers in U.S. companies. 100% U.S. Workers To produce a 100% American made product requires the strength and pride of U.S. workers. Farm to Feet Construction Features Comfort Compression From top of the sock through the middle arch, circumferential compression creates a precise, comfortable fit that helps support the foot and minimize fatigue throughout the day. In my work I hike in remote arid areas. Usually I wear two pair of socks. Thin inner socks and a thicker boot sock. I decided to see if I could get away with just wearing one pair. I chose the Heavy weight Expedition Socks for a trial run. I have to say that they did their part and did it well. The experiment was not a complete success in that they seem to like cheat grass and do not let go of seeds without a fight. In an environment with less prickly seeds or higher top boots, they would have been ideal. I really enjoyed the comfort of the cushions.
